MLK Day

Today, smooth people, we celebrate the life and contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King.  His vision and work towards racial equality and economic justice continues to be one of the greatest movements in American history.

Here’s a little excerpt from The King Center about his methods to obtain equality:

“King used the power of words and acts of nonviolent resistance, through such as protests, grassroots organizing, and civil disobedience to achieve seemingly impossible goals. He went on to lead similar campaigns against poverty and international conflict, always maintaining fidelity to his principles that men and women everywhere, regardless of color or creed, are equal members of the human family.”

We hope you all took a moment in your day to look back and appreciate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and all his efforts to bring us all a little closer together.
